Youth Pastor Charged In Online Sex Sting

Man Thought He Was Meeting 14-Year-Old Girl, Deputies Say

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- A youth pastor at a church outside Fayetteville was arrested in Greensboro Thursday after deputies said he attempted to meet an undercover deputy whom he thought was a 14-year-old girl.

Thomas Lee Elliott, of Roseboro (pictured) was charged with solicitation of a child by computer to commit an unlawful sex act and attempted taking indecent liberties with a minor.

Deputies said their investigation into Elliott's online activity began last month when he began communicating with the deputy.

Deputies said Elliot, a youth pastor at Autryville Baptist Church, set up the meeting.

He's being held on a $25,000 bond.
