The True Beauty of the Anti-Christ

Image
By C.T. Ogden ~ R ecently, a friend and I were discussing religion in a comparative sense. During our discussion of the good and evil aspects of faith and belief in monotheistic ideologies, we began to explore the idea of the Anti-Christ . What we discovered through our discussion was…beautiful. Beauty can take many forms; a child, a woman, a landscape, an idea, etc. In this forum, the beauty I have found was in the Irony . Only a perfectly evil and methodical mind could construct so perfect a fail-safe as that of the Anti-Christ. Allow me to elaborate. To look at the Anti-Christ in a Biblical sense, he is one that will embody the personality of Christ, but will ultimately deny salvation to his people. Essentially, and to most Christians, he is a man who will end all war, unite the world, and bring an era of peace before Armageddon that follows the rapture. Now let us subtract the ridiculous from this statement; the rapture, Armageddon, salvation, and the destruction of t...

The Fallacy of Faith

Image
By C.T. Ogden ~ F aith is a term often overused, even exhausted; when describing the inherent flaws and unanswered questions of any man’s doctrine. Should the questioning of truth arise in even its most basic form, “Faith” is the only robotic answer a child of logic will ever receive. From the mouths of parents, to the pulpits of liars and thieves, the word faith reverberates so strongly in the ears of the skeptical that it serves to drown the fire of reason and leave us empty, if we let it. But the faithless should fear not, for we are no longer synonymous with emptiness. We are full of life, true life that echoes this world and the people that walk it. Faith (Photo credit: Samiul ) It is all a matter of excuses, and the faithless have none. No distractive terms to cloak the deception of our doctrine. We must search for our answers, trek to the ends of conciseness and science for even the slightest glimpse of the powerful truth this universe holds. For it is not a simple t...

Darwin's Birthday Bash

Image
by C.T. Ogden ~ T he argument concerning the teaching of evolution and creationist ideologies in schools is one that has long swept the floors of our school boards and state legislatures. It is so teeming with personal convictions of educators and legislators that one may find it quite difficult to wade through the ridiculous and come up with a viable decision on the matter. According to the article that I have selected,"On eve of Darwin’s birthday, states take steps to limit evolution" by Kimberly Winston (Washington Post), the schools of certain states are attempting once again to remove theory repeatedly proven by exact and methodical scientific testing, and replace it with fantasy. I find my atheism very apparent from that last statement, but I will attempt to remain as non-biased as possible concerning the subject matter; which I assure you is very biased even so. Whatever side of the spectrum you find yourself on, it is very difficult and almost certainly naive t...

The Morality of Evolution

Image
Hello Everybody, this is my first post am I'm very excited to do so. I cut and pasted it from my research, so I hope it transfers well. The story behind this; I am a freshman at a university in Arkansas. My chemistry teacher mentioned something about Darwin's theory that got my mind working, so I wrote a hypothesis to see where I could go with it. It was a pleasure to write and I hope you all enjoy it. I'm considering more research on this matter, which will be enormous fun, especially with so many like minded people on this site to bounce ideas off of. Please bear in mind this is very rough and needs exorbitant amounts of research. Have a good day, guys :) The Morality of Evolution A Hypothesis by C.T. Ogden I was recently enlightened to the fact that Darwin’s theory of evolution is in fact a theory; something that has been proven numerous times. This being said, it is still a theory, and lacks the grounding to make it into Scientific Law. I am very...
