If there is no Creator and no greater purpose, then why should we bother doing anything? If we were not created by a Holy being then is human life not worthless? Without a Divine being behind all of creation, everything we see is no longer wonderful and beautiful. Time and time again I have heard these phrases come from apologists, evangelists and more. It seems that without some spiritual Big Brother behind everything life suddenly becomes worthless and useless. And yet it's simply not true. Let's, for example, take an orange. I can believe that this orange was simply made by someone who decided 'hey, let's make something edible and orange', or I can believe that it has developed, oh so slowly over millions of years by pure luck and chance. I do not believe in your God, nor do I believe in the Son/Younger God, or the Holy Spirit /Deceased God(?). I do not believe in Hell, nor do I believe in Heaven. So I ask you, why can't you put forward a nice argument for believing in God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit without resorting to 'but you'll burn in Hell' and 'but you won't go to Heaven'. By Alegria -- I magine a dictator who tells the citizens of his country to support him and do what he says, or else he will torture them mercilessly. Furthermore imagine this dictator as promoting himself as a fatherly figure, a guide for the nation, a loving dad for all the citizens. I would now like to direct your attention to two people, 'Uncle Joe' Stalin , also known as the 'Little Father of the Peoples' or 'Papa Stalin'; and to God. Do we condone Stalin's acts, claiming that he had no choice but to initiate the Great Purge to demonstrate his love for the USSR ? Do we claim that he is nothing but a wonderful man, and that anybody he has tortured, maimed, or killed deserved it, because they didn't support Papa Stalin and love all that he loved, and shun all that he shunned?
